About the Class:

Our unique prenatal yoga classes go beyond simply modifying yoga poses. We celebrate community, incorporate childbirth education, and strive to make your pregnancy as comfortable as possible by addressing any aches or pains in your body. Each class includes poses that bring balance and alignment to the pelvis, pelvic floor, and pelvic & uterine ligaments. This encourages your baby into a more optimal birthing position so you may have a more functional, less complicated birth.

Yoga asana is also used to discover coping skills. Students explore poses that allow for safe, strong sensations. This offers you the chance to learn what coping skills you may gravitate toward, as well as how to use them when you are experiencing physical and mental discomfort (like in labor and early parenthood). This mindful exploration of yoga poses will leave you feeling more prepared for whatever lies ahead in your pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

The final component of PYC prenatal classes is how seamlessly childbirth education is integrated. This empowers students to continuously learn about pregnancy, the birth process, and early parenthood in a digestible and non-intimidating way.

Cancellation Policy: Drop-ins must be cancelled at least 8 hours prior to class to avoid being charged. Sessions that are part of a series may not be transferred to a future series.

In the event you must late cancel your registration, you will be sent that day's re-released recording of our 10 am class, which will be available for viewing for 24 hours.

About the Instructor, Claire Baum:

Claire Baum believes that movement (including yoga) should be open to all and is constantly working to make her classes more inclusive by teaching specifically to those students before her. Claire's anatomically based classes have an innovative dance-inspired approach to sequencing and are lighthearted and energetic in nature. Her classes prioritize the strength and suppleness of both body and mind, and encourage autonomy within the practice. This autonomy aims to cultivate a sense of accessibility, agency, grounding, and joy about moving your body and learning from your best teacher - you!

Claire is a dancer, choreographer, ERYT-200 yoga teacher from OM Factory (2017), and a RPYT from the Prenatal Yoga Center (2023). She has done Trauma Informed Yoga and CPTSD trainings with Exhale to Inhale and Anatomy Intensives with Joe Miller at Sacred Sounds and Jenni Rawlings. Ever a student of movement, Claire has recently become mat pilates certified through the Kane School.

Claire has taught in gyms, boutique studios, corporate settings, and residential buildings across NYC. Find her at www.lindenmovementlab.org
