When we think or tell our birth stories, a lot of major feelings can come up. But how do we process these big emotions? Who do we talk to, how can we better understand our own stories and how do we got there? How do we let go of the feelings that do not serve us — and remove any possible shame and guilt? Join Not Safe for Mom Group (nsfmg) and Glow Birth & Body for an interactive conversation with experts in the birth, loss, and mental health fields to talk about the importance of speaking and processing our birth stories, the systems that can lead to a loss of agency in birth, and tools that can help change the narrative of your own story.
About the Hosts:
Not Safe For Mom Group (nsfmg) hosts online conversations covering topics, questions, and feelings we can't talk about anywhere else — from postpartum depression, to postpartum sex, to rage, to miscarriage, and more. Founder (and mom of two), Alexis Barad-Cutler facilitates talking circles all over NYC and beyond — where the raw, vulnerable, online conversations come to life — creating real, and meaningful connections.
Glow® Birth & Body has served more than 10,000 clients with prenatal & postpartum massage therapy, birth education and birth support since its founding in 2010. Glow® also produces The Birth Deck, a deck of flashcards for labor support. Ten years later, Glow® continues to thrive as the preeminent prenatal massage source in the San Francisco Bay Area and will open in Chicago in 2020.
