The arrival of a new baby is an exciting time for a family! We will look at how to prepare before baby as well as the first few years of sibling-hood. Explore what this transition means for you. Develop ways to support your older child(ren) as they transition into a new role as the sibling. And learn how to nurture your children's unique relationship as they grow together.
This workshop is geared towards parents of children ages 5 years and under, however you came to be a family.
Topics will include:
-talking with your older child(ren) before the baby arrives
-introducing the baby
-regressions and other common behaviors
-setting your children up for strong relationships
-early sibling tensions and how to handle them

About the Instructor:
Melina Gac Levin, M.S.Ed.
Melina is an infant and toddler developmental specialist with over a decade of experience working with families and children. Her passion lies in supporting young children and their families to find joy and comfort in themselves, each other and their community. She is enjoying experiencing things firsthand as the mother to an active and curious toddler.
Melina holds a dual Masters in Infant, Toddler and Family Development and Early Childhood General & Special Education from Bank Street College of Education. She is certified to teach children yoga through Asana Alphabet, and trained in infant massage through Loving Touch International. Melina has presented workshops at Bank Street's Infancy Institute and at the NYSAIS Diversity and Equity in Curriculum Conference. She is an adjunct faculty member at Bank Street where she teaches World of the Infant.
