Music & Movement is a brief yet robust encounter with music & active engagement for toddlers, attempting to delve into the profound concepts tickling our toddler's minds. These classes aim to be musically and visually engaging, involving singing, dancing, musical storytelling, puppets, props, sirens, and animal sounds. Toddlers will be encouraged to sing, move, dance, repeat sounds, try simple instruments, and explore creative actions such as swimming in imaginary water, shoveling imaginary snow (ie. cleaning up), etc. Classes will reinforce and expand upon previous weeks' lessons to build new sensibilities in expression drawing from dance, yoga, Tai Chi, and the world around us. Taught by Jim SKULDT, long-time practicing Visual Artist & Musician, recipient of multiple grants/awards, teacher & professor of all varieties of Art.
A caretaker must be present to assume responsibility for each toddler in attendance.
Vaccinated adults only. Caretaker participation (particularly in singing) is strongly encouraged in the spirit of joining in the creation of a playful developmental environment while building the confidence of our kids as they are having fun.
The suggested age range for this class is 18 months - 3 years old. This class has in mind toddlers in-or-around their 2’s, but this is of course not an exact science and depends on each individual child’s personality and development; Please feel free to email with any questions (see below).
